Ambercare Medical Supply Co., a durable medical equipment company providing Home Medical Equipment, including Respiratory Services, has achieved the Award of Accreditation from the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation (HQAA), based in Water- loo, Iowa. This award was presented on 3/30/2012 and is achieved only when a medical equipment provider demonstrates a high level of quality in all their business operations and services. Ambercare Medical Supply Co. earned the three-year accreditation after completing a comprehensive review process that focuses on meeting quality standards and a commitment to quality operational practices and procedures in the areas of financial stability, human resource training, patient care, delivery services, billing practices and maintenance of products and equipment. Accreditation by the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation assures Medicare and other health payers that the highest levels of quality are practiced within all areas of the company.

Founded in 2005, the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation became a deemed author- ity by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to accredit providers of durable and home medical equipment. HQAA and Ambercare Medical Supply Co. seek to ensure that patients receive honest, ethical treatment. HQAA’s interactive, web-based design is specifically aimed at the durable medical equipment industry, providing a targeted approach to accreditation and quality improvement.
Ambercare was founded in 1994 by Michael and Mary Merrell, in Belen, New Mexico with a mission to provide outstanding care and compassion for New Mexicans who are home bound due to sickness or injury. Now, with close to 2000 employees, the Ambercare Standard of Care is provided through- out New Mexico with locations in 11 communities from Las Cruces to Las Vegas.

Ambercare Corporation, a New Mexico-based, employee-owned provider of home healthcare, hospice, personal care services and medical equipment & supplies is proud to announce its expansion and move to larger quarters to better serve the Las Cruces and Dona Ana community. The new location, at 3870 Foothills is more centrally located, in the medical area near Mountain View Hospital. It is three times the size of the former location and and features Ambercare’s third retail location in New Mexico for medical equipment & supplies, making it easier and more convenient for patients to get what they need, when they need it. Ambercare will celebrate the new location with an Open House on March 30, 2012 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm. This event is open to the public. An array of food and refresh- ments will be served.
